A LIFE OF ADVENTURE

Meet Israel

Owner, Grass Valley RV Park | Fellow Traveler

Growing up in Oregon, I’ve had the opportunity to explore many unique places and experience the breathtaking landscapes this beautiful state has to offer.

As a passionate fisherman, I spent decades exploring rivers and lakes, often hiking deep into remote areas in search of the perfect spot to cast a line.

In 2017, I successfully completed the Pacific Crest Trail, a five-month journey that introduced me to adventurous people from all walks of life and a wide variety of unique lifestyles. Along the way, I learned that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

I was also inspired by the generosity of the trail angels I met, individuals who offered snacks, drinks, encouragement, and a place to freshen up after days spent in the mountains.

I have a deep passion for adventure and enjoy traveling to new places, including Alaska, Canada, and destinations throughout the lower 48 states.

Meeting fellow travelers on the road is an experience like no other. I enjoy hearing their stories, learning about their journeys, and discovering the incredible places they’ve explored.

The traveling community is made up of people from all walks of life, including cyclists, RVers, overlanders, motorcyclists, and solo nomadic travelers. My passion for travel continues to grow, and I will always be inspired by the travelers I meet from all corners of the world.

I look forward to welcoming you to our park!

A Town Rooted in History

Established in the late 1800s, Grass Valley, Oregon, is a small community with a rich history deeply connected to the pioneering spirit of the American West. Located in the heart of Sherman County, the town was founded during a period of growth fueled by agriculture, transportation, and the determination of early settlers who helped shape the region. The fertile lands surrounding Grass Valley became known for wheat farming and ranching, industries that continue to play an important role in the area's identity today.

Over the years, Grass Valley has remained a place where neighbors know one another, travelers are warmly welcomed, and the pace of life encourages visitors to slow down and appreciate the beauty of rural Oregon. While the town has grown and evolved since its founding, it has never lost the character and charm that make small communities so special. Historic buildings, open landscapes, and a strong sense of local pride serve as reminders of the generations who have called this area home.

Situated along scenic routes that connect travelers to some of Oregon's most memorable destinations, Grass Valley has long been a natural stopping point for adventurers exploring the Pacific Northwest. Today, visitors enjoy the town's peaceful atmosphere, stunning sunsets, and convenient access to outdoor recreation, including fishing, rafting, cycling routes, scenic drives, wineries, and historic landmarks throughout the Columbia River Gorge region.

Whether you're passing through on a cross-country journey, exploring Oregon's backroads, or settling in for a longer stay, Grass Valley offers a unique blend of history, hospitality, and small-town charm. It's a place where the stories of the past are still felt, the landscapes remain beautifully unspoiled, and every visitor is invited to experience the warmth and simplicity that have defined this community for generations.
